France is a great place to visit, and luckilly for people within Europe, relatively inexpensive to get to.

The tips for long haul flights are nice ones - and can apply to any destination. If you can break a journey into two hops, it will usually make it cheaper, but you do have to be very careful about connections! Leave some time for those inevitable delays.

When I break a flight, I usually build in a long stay, so that I can nip out of the airport and grab some food outside - it's nice to spend even a few hours in another country - not as good as staying there for real, but at least I can say I passed through :)
