Discover Germany – It's A Great Vacation Destination
Europe is becoming an increasingly popular holiday destination, because it is an area rich in history, and with a number of beautiful locations. Some of the most popular parts of Europe are Germany, France and Spain – countries which an increasing number of airlines are offering discount airfares for.
Germany is one of the oldest countries in the world – with a history that predates the formation of the Holy Roman Empire. In the earliest parts of its history, Germanic tribes ruled the lands. The country is littered with majestic castles and manor houses that remind us of a time long past, when knights and chivalry were real, and not just things of fairy tales. The artwork, whether painted or sewn in the form of tapestries has captured that age so pristinely. Today vacationers can visit museums and tour some of the more elegant estates. Finding discount airfares to Germany means more in the budget for hotels and other extra perks.
More than Polka and Strange Cheeses
Before you decide to purchase your discount airfare to Germany through an online travel web site like Orbitz or Expedia, consider checking out the airline's web page that you intended to fly. Continental and U.S. Airways offer weekly, and even monthly specials on airfare across the country and the globe. You would be surprised how low their specials can go; offering passage to such places as the Caribbean, The Orient, and Europe for only a few dollars. Discount airfare to Germany may be easier to find than your car keys on any given day. And you will have much better stories to tell all of your friends, not including all of the pictures.
There are so many travel web sites out there that it can be difficult to know which one to use. Some of them are advertising vacation packages for, quite literally, pennies. Is this really a good deal, however, or will you find that there are so many hidden costs that the vacation 'deal' could end up costing you even more than a standard high street price?
Planning a great family vacation is quite a responsibility – there is a lot more to it than just finding a great discount fare to Germany – you will also need to find a good hotel to stay, and plan your journey to and from the airport. Using the internet can be a good way to make the planning process less stressful, but do some research on the sites that you use. Do they offer customer support – if so, can you contact them via the telephone, or only through email? Sometimes, speaking to a live human is a lot easier than using a knowledge base or waiting for an email response.

We'd take a group of students to Germany every year and it was always great. The German people are very friendly and didn't mind answering the kids questions. Even though they have some dark periods in their history (The Berlin Wall, the Holocaust) they don't cover it up or hide it. They have turned them into learning experiences. It is hard not to be moved when you visit some of the concentration camps that have been turned into museums. And the puiblic transportation is so great we only had to rent a car for a day or two when we were visiting people off the beaten path (we were part of an exchange group staying with various families). The kids all loved it.

Germany is so rich with history, most of which is very intriguing. I hope to be able to go sometime. I have several friends in Germany, and I agree with the above statement, they don't try to cover up past events, but instead remember them and encourage learning about them.

Germany is one of my favorite places to visit - especially Berlin. Afterwards, it's not far to other countries and popular places such as Amsterdam - so you can have a really cheap holiday with everything a holiday should have - history, culture, shopping, and nights out
A tip - sometimes street names are replicated in Germany quite a lot - so make sure you know if the Hans Grad Strasse you're staying on is the one just near the town center, or the one miles away!
