Golfing For Fitness & Vacation Pleasure

Golf is a very demanding sport, requiring concentration, co-ordination, and physical fitness.  Golf involves a lot of walking, and a good golf swing requires some flexibility.  Playing a full set of eighteen holes can help develop stamina, flexibility, and some strength too.  Golf may not look like a strenuous sport, especially if you are watching the best golfers on TV, but they are already very fit.  A relatively new player who does not engage in other forms of exercise may be surprised at how tiring golf can be when they play their first game.

Some golfers do not worry about golf fitness because they are naturally, physically fit.  Others must work on their fitness so they can enjoy their time on the golf course.  Each golfer must have stamina to complete eighteen rounds of golf.  Some of this stamina can be achieved while on the course.  Playing those eighteen holes contributes to the stamina of each player.  Those players who travel in golf carts might walk the course each time, and this will build up their stamina.  The walk on the course will be a great benefit to the golf fitness of each player who walks the entire course.

Get Fit and Improve Your Golfing Game

If you wish to improve your game, and improve your fitness in the process, then you will be pleased to learn there are many fitness aids on the market that are designed for exactly that purpose.  You can find books that will teach you exercises that target the muscles used during a game of golf.  If you practice these exercises, you will find that your swing improves, and you will be able to play through a game without getting tired as quickly.

You can also find DVDs and even computer games that focus on golf techniques  - they will show the exercises to you more clearly than a book, and the computer games may include devices to track your movements, and give you tips on how to improve based on your own strengths and weaknesses.

If you want to improve strength over stamina and technique, then you could look for weightlifting programs which are designed for golfers.  There are aids available for everyone, from experienced golfers who want to target a specific issue, to newcomers who wish to train a number of areas.

Golfing is a very good way to relax while on vacation. Many people have never tried the sport and once you do you can then decide if it is for you. Having taken many vacations and went golfing has helped me to pick better vacationing spots and destinations. You get a chance to see things you might not have seen before and each golf course is different from the others.

It's a good idea to learn golf - if nothing else, it seems to be a very popular 'works day out' sport now - impress your boss with your perfect swing :)

I never thought about it from lalajeans perspective before, but that is a nice idea - see the world while looking for the perfect golf course - if nothing else it will stop you from getting caught in a holiday rut.
