Traditional Beach Vacations: Enjoying Sun, Sea & Sand
American Beach Vacations
Beach vacations were not that popular in the USA until the twentieth century – people did not really see the point in going to the beach before then. This change when a heat wave hit the country during the early 20th century. People did not generally have easy access to swimming pools, or even air conditioning, so they headed to the beaches to try to cool off. The fashion spread across the country, and beaches became a popular short break vacation area. The trend lasted throughout the century and still continues today.
Beach Vacations – A Growing Industry
The growth of popularity of beach vacations has led to a thriving industry surrounding holidays and beach areas. There are lots of peripheral industries – covering activities, entertainment, food, and holiday packages.
There is something for everyone to enjoy hen it comes to beach vacations – be it swimming, sunning themselves, relaxing, or enjoying a romantic getaway.
The beach scene is very different to how it was in the early days, and a lot more commercial now, but there is still a lot of fun to be had, so next time you want to get away for a while, look to the coast!

Deciding on a beach vacation that is good for the entire group or family is the key. Some areas are better than others for families and others are. When choosing a beach vacation it is not very important that you have access to other swimming venues, although many people look for them in their hotel reservations.
What type of beach vacations are the best and where are those places located that is what I found missing in this article.
