Top Europe Vacation Destinations

Overseas vacations are a great way to see new cultures and scenery.  Europe is a very culturally rich continent, and somewhere that everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.  You can explore a lot of Europe in one trip thanks to the nature of the continent and its transport system, with many countries connected via rail links.

Top Choices for Europe Vacations

Europe vacations are very stimulating and some young American adults like to go backpacking throughout Europe for the adventure. The usual countries that have plenty of visitors and tourists for their Europe vacations are Spain, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and more. These countries enjoy having more tourists than others because they are invariably safe and progressive.

The history of Europe spans several thousand years, and you can learn a lot about world history from a visit to Europe.  You can also encounter lots of different cultures and traditions.  A visit to Europe can be quite eye-opening for many young people.

If religious history is something you are interested in, then you could visit places such as Lourdes and Fatima, where patron saints are said to have done miracles.  Europe has many sites which are considered important pilgrimages for some faiths.

Some parts of Europe can be quite expensive, and the cost to fly there is naturally more than it would cost to take an interstate trip, but there are some places which can be enjoyed on a budget, it just depends on your expectations – hotel star ratings, for example, work on a different system in Europe to the USA.

Most European countries do not require a visa for Americans to visit.  Some others issue joint visas so that you can pass in and out of neighboring countries on one visa.  Check the rules before you travel to see what you will need for the places you are thinking of visiting.

I've been to France, Germany, Sweden, Holland and Belgium, and would recommend them all - France can be a little expensive compared to some places, but has a very nice atmosphere. Holland and Sweden are on the lower price end, but the people are very friendly.

If you are coming from far away, then I'd say spend two weeks hopping around Europe at a minimum, to get the best feel for it.
