Discount on Airfares to London
If you have always wanted to visit Europe, then why not head over to London on a great discount airfare offer. From there you are just a short hop from the continent, and can pick and choose your holiday destinations. There are discount airfares available on lots of sites, such as Travelocity, Hotwire, and Priceline. You can also get great deals in our online reservations center .
Priceline is a little different to other discount travel sites – you name the price you are willing to pay, and Priceline try to match you with an offer that will get you that price. You may have to apply for a credit card, or try out a broadband provider, to get the price that you have named, but you will usually get a deal much nicer than those available on standard travel sites. The one 'catch' is that when you name your price, you are guaranteeing that you will purchase the ticket and try the offers, otherwise you will be charged a penalty.
If you don’t mind completing a sponsor offer, then Priceline may be the site for you. However, if you don’t want any strings attached then you should stick with more traditional sites for discount airfare to London such as Expedia and airline sites like American and United.
Choosing The Airport
The main airport in London is Heathrow Airport (LHR) – it is centrally located, and much more convenient than the other airports for business and leisure travelers. If you want to save money on your airfares, you could consider another airport such as Gatwick (LGW) – however you may find that an alternative airport ends up costing you more in transport to and from the airport than you have saved on the flight – work out the total cost including a hotel near the airport, transportation, etc, before you book.
Try looking at some British web sites too -but remember to work out the conversion rate before you book – as a general rule, at the time of writing the exchange rate means that £1 = $2. Don't forget to check what your bank charges you for foreign conversions too. Also, try checking the price for booking your accommodation and hotel with the same company – sometimes you can get good discounts that way.
Onward to Europe
Once you are in London you can easily access the rest of Europe – you could drive to France, get a cheap flight to Germany, or enjoy a cruise around the continent. London is the ideal location to start off your holiday, and gives you easy access to a whole range of adventures.
