A New Zealand Ski Vacation Adventure

If you want to do something that little bit more adventurous, why not try a New Zealand ski vacation? New Zealand is a wonderful country to visit, and their ski season is July through to October, so if you get the urge to ski during the American 'off season' why not head over to New Zealand for some more 'winter' fun.

A Unique Experience!

The ski resorts of Queenstown and Wanaka offer great New Zealand ski. Both of these areas offer classic ski vacation amenities such as fast chair lifts, ski lessons and snow boarding instruction. Both the experienced and beginner skier can have an unforgettable New Zealand ski vacation.

If you want something a little more challenging, there are lots of more advanced resorts off the beaten path. You will need a four wheel drive vehicle to get to these areas, but it will be worth it if you are seeking an exciting slope.

The more challenging resorts are usually located in more rural areas, and offer an intense and exciting experience for the more avid skier. The queues are shorter than at the beginner slopes, and they are perfect for people seeking a way to get away from the crowds and get some serious skiing done.

Another type of New Zealand ski vacation can include Heli-skiing. This is done by using a helicopter. The skiers board the helicopter and then they are taken to a remote location and dropped into the area. At the bottom of the mountain they are then picked up.

These 'out of bounds' areas offer great views – the Tasmin Glacier area, for example, can only be reached in this manner, but you can get a 12Km view of the glacier from the top, and the nice long stretch on uninterrupted skiing is hard to equal elsewhere.
