Wisconsin Tourism – Innovation Throughout The Year

If you are not familiar with what Wisconsin tourism has to offer, then you are in for a special treat.  The Wisconsin tourism bureau has stated that it's mission is to provide "leadership and guidance to Wisconsin's tourism industry to ensure that tourism is a top contributor to the state's economy and quality of life."  And it has been achieving that goal successfully by promoting seasonal and year-round events and attractions that give visitors to Wisconsin a top-rate experience.

Wisconsin Tourism and Eco-tourism

A recent innovation by the Wisconsin tourism bureau is to promote so-called "ecotourism".  When businesses meet certain  minimum standards for sustainability and environmental friendliness they are given a "travel green Wisconsin" certification from the bureau. Environmentally-minded travelers welcome the designation, so they can spend their tourism dollars on companies that share their values.

Wisconsin Tourism and Seasonal Agricultural Promotions

Another great feature of  Wisconsin tourism bureau is its seasonal agricultural promotions.  You can enjoy exciting and unique tours such as tours of local apple orchards, offered at the height of the apple harvest season. Visitors to Wisconsin apple orchards can pick their own applies, press their own apple cider, and buy apple-themed knick-knacks and cookbooks in gift shops.

There are many other seasonal promotions.  For example,  the changing leaf colors.  Few things are more beautiful that the changing color of the leaves in autumn and the Wisconsin tourism bureau provides some wonderful tours to allow you to enjoy the changing leaf colors to the full.   It publishes driving and cycling routes where visitors will find spectacular color. During the summer, the seasonal promotions continue with a video promotion of Wisconsin's extensive network of bicycle trails.

With more than 1,000 miles of waterways, fishing is another popular Wisconsin tourism attraction. As with other seasonal activities, the Wisconsin tourism bureau promotes its streams, rivers, and creeks as one of the best places in the United States to go trout fishing. The bureau's intense efforts to promote Wisconsin's seasonal events and activities must surely result in many new visitors coming to the state.

Wisconsin Tourism Includes Kid Friendly Attractions Too!

No one enjoys vacation time more than kids.  So having family friendly attractions is an essential part of  Wisconsin tourism.  To that end they use an innovative marketing tool to rate attractions by how family-friendly they are. If kids enjoy these attractions and are tolerated at them by other adults, the attraction makes the kid-friendly list.

Green Bay – Wisconsin Tourism Hot Spot For Football Fans

The Green Bay area is marketed as one of Wisconsin's oldest communities, with origins as a fur trading town. The Wisconsin tourism bureau markets Green Bay to sports enthusiasts. The world-famous Green Bay Packers professional football team represents the pride of Wisconsin, playing at Lambeau Field.  Loyal fans flock to this area, eager to tour the field during the off season or when the team is away. Fans should also be sure to visit the nearby Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.

One thing is for sure.  The Wisconsin tourism bureau is extremely adept at finding innovative and exciting ways to promote Wisconsin tourism.  That means good news for you the visitor as well as for Wisconsin residents.  We all benefit from the efforts of this agency in marketing the wonderful attractions of  Wisconsin.
