Jet skiing is not a sport for the faint hearted.  The powerful water bikes can be terrifying to a person who is not ready for its power and speed. However, for those who love racing vehicles and flirting with adventure this sport provides it all.

You can ride on a jet ski for as little as $50 USD.  Most agencies will offer basic instructions and some tuition for those who have never used a jet ski before.  You can try tandem rides, where two people ride together.  If you have a child who wishes to try jet-skiing, they will need to be accompanied by an adult if they are under 15 years of age.

Let The Fun Begin 

Your day will start with a boat ride to the place where you will be skiing – you will be taught about the location and the type of machine you will be riding.  You will also be fitted for a wetsuit and life jacket, as well as a helmet if required.  In most cases you will not have to bring this kind of equipment yourself, as it will be available for rental.

You would need to bring a change of clothes, a towel, and any other extras such as a waterproof camera, or sports bottle for drinking while out.  You may need to bring some form of ID, such as a photo driving license, if you wish to rent equipment. 

Once you are geared-up, and acquainted with the equipment, all that remains is to head out on your jet ski and enjoy the sights.  One of the best locations to try out is Sand Island, to the south of Oahu in Hawaii.  The Kewalo Basin is a great place to enjoy the speed of a jet ski on the open waters, while also checking out some great scenery.
