Places To Visit During Your Spain Holiday

Spain is a beautiful country.  It is situated in Southern Europe, and its neighbors include the countries of France, Portugal, and Gibraltar.  Spain is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world, a fact that is easy to understand, as there are so many wonderful places to visit within Spain.

Two of the most popular places are Barcelona and Madrid – both of these cities are worthy of a whole holiday to themselves, and will give you many special memories should you visit them.

Barcelona

One of the most well known areas of Barcelona is a street known as Las Ramblas.  This street has some very good shops, and cafes, as well as a great art scene.  There is also a fountain which, according to local legend, anyone who drinks from, will return to Barcelona at some point in the future.

There are lots of museums in Barcelona, as well as some wonderful restaurants and tapas bars where you can sample some of the fine and exquisite cuisine that Spain has to offer.  You should make a point of visiting some of the more famous restaurants at least once during your stay.

Madrid

Madrid is the capital of Spain, so it is understandable that it has a lot to offer to tourists.  It is an ideal place for your first Spain holiday.  The higher altitude means that it is slightly cooler than some of the other cities in Spain during the winter, and quite dry during the summer.  

There are numerous things to see on your Spain holiday in Madrid. One of the most awe-inspiring monuments in Madrid is the Puerta de Alcala near the Parque del Buen Retiro. The Prado Museum is also one place where you can certainly learn a lot of things during your Spain holiday.

Barcelona and Madrid are just two of the great cities that Spain has to offer.  There are many other cities that you could visit on your Spain holiday, and wherever you go you can be sure that you will have a great time. 

Crime rates in Spain are very low, and it is easy to get around with a rental car, so you can take in as many cities as you like, and come home with lots of wonderful memories.
