Family Vacation All Inclusive Travel To The Caribbean

The Caribbean is a great family vacation all inclusive travel destination.  Most families choose to stay in an all-inclusive resort, and family packages tend to include lots of activities for each member of the family, including:

•    Beach outing and water sports for everyone
•    Swimming pools, water slides, and pool complexes
•    Entertainment and activity programs for the children
•    Meals at the resort, and drinks as part of the all inclusive package
•    Spas, cocktail parties, bars and gyms for the adults
•    Baby sitting services
•    Special family rates and discounts

However, there are times when there’s just so many family vacation all inclusive travel resorts out there that it’s difficult to choose one. Given the dollar cost and emotional investment, the stakes are high. How do you know which one suits you and your family best?

Family Vacation All Inclusive Travel: All-Included

All inclusive usually means 'just about everything' – this means that your main meals, and soft drinks, should be included in the package, but certain alcoholic drinks may not be.  You may also find that while most sporting activities are included, there could be an extra fee for some more unusual water sports.

Family Vacation All Inclusive Travel: Some rules of thumb

  1. Usually, kayaks, wind surfing, and other non-motorized water sports are included in an all inclusive package, but motorized sports such as water skiing may not be included in the cost.
  2. Quite often, snorkeling gear is provided free of charge, but for a limited time.  If you do not return the gear within that time you may incur a charge.
  3. Scuba diving is not usually included.
  4. Spas are always extra, unless you got one of those special Caribbean family travel.
  5. Naturally, if you leave the resort you will have to pay for off-site activities, although the resort may provide transport to and from nearby towns free of charge.
  6. Some non-all-inclusive plans may include meals and/or activities.  It's always good to ask.
