Summer Vacation Spots: Planning Early Pays Off

Summer is the time of year when most people travel, especially those with school aged kids.  It's a great time for travel, but the great summer vacation spots often attract many visitors, which means long lines and frazzled nerves.  Advanced planning can help since it usually makes time in the summer vacation spots more enjoyable.  National parks make wonderful summer vacation spots.  These beautiful parks often have fantastic accommodations as well, and because of this may get sold out quickly during the summer months.

National Parks: The Ideal Summer Vacation Spots

You can find national parks in various parts of the country. So most likely there is a beautiful national park not too far away from  you.  Yosemite National Park is a fantastic summer vacation spot for those who would like to escape from the pressures of every day life.  It also qualifies as a beautiful summer vacation spot for those who love to hike in pristine countryside.  Yellowstone National Park is another marvelous summer vacation spot that has beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife.  Glacier National Park has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and lots of outdoor activities.

Popular Summer Vacation Spots: Amusement Parks

Several amusement parks and other tourist attractions continue to draw young and old from around the world because these are great summer vacation spots.  There are very popular tourist attractions on each coast of the United States, and there are many in between the two coasts.  Disney has created magical summer vacation spots that always intrigue the children in the family.  These theme parks are located close to many other attractions so the family can see many sights in one area.  The two Disney Parks are near very interesting sights and close to beaches where the family can enjoy some time in the sunshine.

If  you are looking for summer vacation spots that provide education for all in the family, you can find  that too. The museums located around the country can make some historical, scientific and cultural information seem much more important and interesting than the textbooks.  Washington DC for instance is a prime summer vacation spot for those looking for educational vacations.  Many cities have great art museums filled with work by the masters.  Museums dealing with natural history show replicas of dinosaurs and other ancient creatures.  Planetariums and scientific museums are often located near the popular summer vacation spots so the family can learn something in an enjoyable setting.

Since summer is almost here, your time is running out.  Look around you. The best summer vacation spots may be much closer than you think.
